Quote of the Day
As man conducts his affairs, he goes on living in view of his orientation, of the repertory of his convictions, and all his acts—and, therefore, his whole life—will, in the case of fictitious orientation, be themselves fictitious. And, in fact, if you analyze your own situation, you will note that the type of orientation in which you find yourselves has, in the ultimate depths of your conscience, a character that is provisional. You will also recognize that you have adopted this for the very purpose of avoiding the need to question things; perhaps for the very reason that underneath this mask you have a presentiment of being basically disoriented, lost. This presentiment, this possibility, produces horror in your heart, and you manage to protect yourselves by shifting attention from it and embarking blindly on the vagrant convictions of others, installing yourselves in the commonplace, in what you hear said.
