THE LIMELIGHT Launches Soon!

Muddy Ford Press‘s Tribute to Columbia’s Arts Community, The Limelight: A Compendium of Contemporary Columbia Artists is almost here! Among many wonderful essays, I’m honored to contribute a piece about one of my principal writing mentors and enablers, Robert Lamb, a fine author, teacher, publisher, and an all-around Southern gentleman.

Other subjects include musicologist and author Michael Miller feting jazzman extraordinaire Chris Potter, Kristine Hartsvigsen musing on the words and wisdom of poet Marjorie Wentworth, author Cindi Boiter on her iconic Arcade studio neighbor Blue Sky, and novelist Janna McMahan on our own low country bard (and friend of the capitol city, too—just ask the boys down at Yesterday’s), the maestro Pat Conroy.

The book launches February 24 at The Arcade. From the Facebook event page:

Please plan to join us as we celebrate the launch of the first volume of an anually serialized book of essays written by Columbia artists and writers about Columbia’s artists and writers.$15 admission provides you with a First Edition copy of The Limelight (regularly $18), admission to the party where artists and writers will be on hand to autograph your book, great company and conversation, music and snacks.
