After a terrific inaugural showing in 2016, South Carolina’s new book festival Deckle Edge returns February 24-26 in downtown Columbia!
Aspiring writers in the Columbia, SC area, take note! Signups are now open for my Spring 2017 workshops hosted by Midlands Technical College. Featuring beginner and advanced courses, plus a basics of screenwriting workshop, my classroom awaits your presence, enthusiasm, and talent.
Some of you may have noticed that Edgewater County Confidential has been dark all summer. Inactive. It’s been quiet around here—too quiet. It’s all good. Two words to keep in mind (with props to Douglas Adams): DON’T PANIC.
South Carolina’s newest literary event is almost here—next weekend brings the debut of Deckle Edge! Successor to the late, lamented SC Book Festival (its swan song came in 2015), book lovers, young readers, educators, and writers of all skill levels will find activities to stimulate their particular field of interest.

This stuffy summer finds me not only blazing through the third revision of the DIXIANA saga (1608 pages and counting) but continuing to wait for news on any number of promising submissions, the most prominent of which is my literary drama MANSION OF HIGH GHOSTS currently residing on desks and hard drives at Pat Conroy’s Story River […]
After a successful and stimulating Basics of Screenwriting course this fall, I’m energized to teach again during the winter and spring terms in the Midlands Technical College continuing ed program. The Fiction Writing course returns first, and then immediately after, we go back into scriptwriting mode.
Pleased today to announce that I’ll be returning to teaching his September in the MTC Continuing Ed program, this time with two classes.
